Prizes by Randy

We've got prizes for the blood drive, but first a quick update on Ann.

She got her latest nerve block more than two weeks ago. She thinks it is beginning to take effect. I can see the subtle signs too. She stays in our bed longer and while she doesn't lie completely flat, she is stretching out a bit better.

Courier reporter Susan Orr came over to the house yesterday morning and a photographer shot some pictures of us on our bikes and with Toby. (Toby fell out of Ann's basket during the shoot. Actually, I think he jumped. He's okay). I think the story is going to run Saturday.

Now for the blood drive prizes. We got a package of four great tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals last game of the season, two tickets to the Sugarland with Kelli Pickler concert at Roberts Stadium, a hittable weighted driver, a signed copy of Amy Grant's book, a miniature guitar signed by Vince Gill, a cooler from the Sloan's Hand in Hand Foundation and 6 CD's from Jared Osmond, Donny and Marie's nephew. We're working on more prizes. Everyone who donates will be entered for the drawing, which we'll do live on our 9 O'clock newscast.

The Labor of Love blood drive in honor of Ann Moore is Tuesday, September 2 from 11-7 at the Red Cross on Stockwell Rd. See you there.

Hi there....Ann here. I'm so excited about this blood drive and very humbled that it is named in my honor. The fact is, blood really is the gift of life. I would have died without it last Christmas. There are so many cancer patients who are completely at the mercy of those willing to stick their arms out there and give. I know that most people don't really like needles, or the sight of blood, but the folks at the Red Cross really do make it painless and fun. I've been stuck so many times over the last year and a half, my nickname should be pincushion. Randy and I will be there to personally thank all of you. There are some pretty cool prizes too! We'll see you on Tuesday!

Ann, another wonderful & inspiring article of you, Randy & Toby in the newspaper today. You look great and hope you are feeling better. Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend and good luck on the blood drive. We all are truly blessed to know you, even if I've never met you in person. Continue the good fight dear lady and may God bless you & your family!
