Oh My Gosh What a Week!
I've had a very, very busy week! Starting with new puppy on Monday. Gee, puppies are a full time job!
Plus, I was so stressed over what to name the little guy. Thanks for all the suggestions. I just couldn't go with Winston as much as I admire Winston Churchill. To me, Winston is a cigarette. (Shows my age.)
I had the wonderful privilege of speaking at a fundraiser for Pan Can last week thanks to NBA Coach Jerry Sloan and the Sloan Foundation. It was a great gathering of people at Todd and Kristen Tucker's home and I was honored to share the "stage" with fellow pancreatic cancer fighter Darrell Ragland.
On Saturday I drove to Nashville to be with my sister and her daughters. The occasion was a bridal shower for my niece, Mary. Sunday morning I had some presentations to do at church, a meeting after, then a drive to Indianapolis for a stay with our dear friends Mike and Jane Sullivan before my endoscopic nerve block Monday morning. Tuesday I had a Chrysalis meeting and another speaking engagement before a group of cancer survivors. Whew! In between, I've been working hard on moving the Gilda's Club forward. We've made some giants strides in the last few weeks and I can't wait to tell you more!
As far as how I'm doing...the nerve block is helping, I think. I was in horrendous pain the last couple of weeks and despite my busy schedule, I was barely able to function. I do feel better today. I've been out on my bike a lot, the weather has just been perfect for riding!
So, that's what happening in a nutshell! Now that my schedule appears to be calmer...I'll stay in closer touch.
My puppy is sleepy and so am I. Perhaps a nap is in order.
Woof!
I now have kcs puppy envy:) My friend Dana from Melbourne, FL
called to ask me if i had visited you blog recently. She went on
to tell me that you and Cindy had shown her a picture of your
new baby.
Ann, he is gorgeous. We have had our female,
"Sister Mary Magdalena" (she's a tri and looked like a nun
when she was a baby pup, HA!!!), for 2 1/2 years. She is
one of the great loves of my life:D
I hope your little Toby will bring you as much joy as she has
brought us!!!
