A Big Honor
Randy and I had the honor of addressing the United Methodist South Annual Conference in Bloomington this week.
We were asked to do this last fall. As you can imagine, it's hard to make plans, but to make plans this far in advance is a tremendous challenge. How sick would I be? What would treatment do to me? And we never spoke this out loud but...would I even be alive?
Wow, is our God good! There is no doubt He wanted us to be there because He protected me in every way possible. I am stronger now than I've been since diagnosis. I have so far tolerated this new treatment that is more toxic than previous treatment and therefore was supposed to be so hard on me.
The new treatment is working. Not only is my tumor stable, but my tumor markers(ca 19-9 is an indication in the blood of cancer activity) are down to 225! They were nearly 1200 at diagnosis. People tell me I just don't look like someone who has advanced inoperable pancreatic cancer. And, you know what my doctor said when he gave me this good news on Tuesday? "Praise God!"
We have a big God who answers big prayers!
We were able to share that message at Annual Conference and what an honor it was to do so. He is the Great Physician who is still in the business of healing. To think otherwise would be to discount much of the ministry of Jesus Christ.
I am very, very humbled, and very, very grateful.
and bring relief to some - but does not appear to bring that to others - good people - who led good family lives. Why is it that you can see god's ways in your
life and yet - god seemed not to grace the people in my life (and many others) with the same? This is something that really puzzles me and I would be very interested in
knowing your thoughts.
that read, "FAITH IS MORE THAN BELIEVING GOD CAN, IT IS BELIEVING GOD WILL!" I love that because it has only
been a little over a year that I stopped praying, " I know you can Lord." Through you ,and my friend, Mike Shore, God has taught
me to pray, "I know you WILL Lord." It certainly reinforces the scripture that says, "FAITH IS BEING SURE OF WHAT WE ARE
HOPING FOR & CERTAIN OF THE THINGS WE CANNOT SEE WITH HUMAN EYES."
Our Vacation Bible School started at church last evening. The children are learning about the miracles of Jesus. I thank God that one
day in the near future we will not only be able to read to them of the miracles in the Bible, but have people like Ann Moore &
Mike Shore get up and share their personal experience with miracles!
you Ann. What a blessing! Best wishes to you and Randy and the children.
We have a praise that you are doing so well with your new treatment. At First Baptist Owensboro, we've had an on going prayer request in our prayer room and you site hadn't been checked in awhile. So with delight and praise to God we can post your Good news.
