God is Good...All the Time!

I am tickled pink today and I can't wait to tell you why!

We organized a fundraiser for Gilda's Club at our church last night. We decided it would be fun to have a "Fat Tuesday" celebration and use it as a time to introduce Gilda's Club to our members and offer up a chance for them to donate to the cause. You know, to "sweeten" the lives of people living with cancer. We need $5,000 to send in with our application to Gilda's Worldwide so we can become an official club.

We decided not to promote the fundraiser to the community as there will be plenty of opportunity for that once we become an official organization.

We had a fabulous group of musicians playing Dixieland Jazz and the evening was opened up with a goofy parade of characters who tossed beads and danced around tables to "When the Saints Go Marching In." It was perfect!

The crowd wasn't quite as big as hoped since we had severe weather in the area and I was certain we wouldn't be able to raise all the money, but that was OK because we were having such a great time. We served pancakes and all kinds of toppings. The tradition is to empty our shelves of fat and sugar before the start of Lent. Hence, pancakes!

Here's where God comes in. We counted the money at the end of the night and (drumroll please...) we raised $5,098!

A big warm hug to everyone who was there last night. Thank you for your generosity and your support, it means so much!

Our application will be sent in immediately!

God is Good All the Time!

Much Agape,

Ann

Ann,
What that reminds me of is that God will not only meet our hopes and prayers but will surpass what we can only imagine. Where do we contribute to the Gilda's club for Evansville. Our Love Jane and Mike Sullivan

Hi Ann! Congratulations on your huge success last night! I think Gilda's Club would be an extroardinary addtion to Evansville and I have met many people while working at the American Cancer Society that could definitely utilize a program like Gilda's. I think about you and your family all the time (as you have been my second family for more yeas than I can even remember), and I am so glad that you have championed Gilda's Club! Have a great day and hopefully I will get to Evansville soon and we can have a visit!
Love ya!

Great job! But, you should be tickled purple instead of pink as purple is the color for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness! :) Just a bit of humor.... I am glad that your
spirits are so high - that is good to hear
